A statement win on opening night for the Warriors over the Lakers… what can we expect against the other LA team?

Life sure does come at you fast, doesn’t it?

After the Warriors’ five year run of unparalleled success was interrupted in 2019, it was supposed to be the Clippers who benefited.

Two years later? They haven’t won squat.

Not only that, but they have no Kawhi. He’s supposed to be out for a while.

Safe to say things haven’t gone as planned.

And after GM Bob Myers adamantly claimed the Warriors were back to contending this year… their result against LBJ’s squad should serve notice.

They’re back.

We didn’t expect things to be this way… but here we are.

Neither Stephen Curry nor Jordan Poole shot the ball particularly well in that game.

But the pressure they put on the Lakers defense helped set the tone. And then, they pounced on their chances when they came.

Not only are the Clippers missing Leonard, but they’re also starting the year without veteran center Serge Ibaka, who is banged up.

The injury troubles, the Warriors’ momentum… it all shapes up to be a pretty easy bet for the favourite.

I’m taking the Warriors on the spread!

Here are my picks:

  • Take Golden State (-3.5) for the win -105
