Team USA has a chance to tie the Men’s record for most consecutive gold medals in basketball when they go for their seventh straight Olympic championship on Saturday night.

But that’s not the only history on the line…

Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi are both looking for their fifth gold medal, which would be the most ever by ANY ball player in Olympic history.

The only thing standing in America’s way…is the host nation, Japan…a team that they already dominated in the Preliminary Round.

So, the question really isn’t if USA will win…the question is, by how much?

And the answer appears to be ‘by a lot’…because the U.S. held Japan to under 17 points in each of the final three quarters of their last matchup…and I expect that domination to continue with the gold medal on the line.

So, here are the picks:

  • Take Team USA to cover -17.5
  • And hold Japan to under 70.5 total points at -115
