Top Plays for Ryder Cup

The premier golf team event is back after a three-year lay off. The best golfers from Team USA and Team Europe are descending onto Whistling Straits Golf Course in Kohler, Wisconsin. Which means there’s a ton of investment opportunities for you this week.

Starting with Team USA in terms of the top points scorer, I’m going to go with Xander Schauffele. He’s currently at a +1200 on FanDuel and what a summer for Xander Schauffele. He wins Olympic gold, he finishes runner up at the Masters earlier this year. And he is coming into peak form. He’s probably going to play all the matches, particularly with Patrick Cantlay. Cantlay is the reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year, reigning FedEx Cup champion as well. I just like Xander’s game on Whistling Straits. It’s a course where you got to find the fairways. And he has the great iron play and great short game to deal with the windy conditions and difficult greens. 

So give me Xander Schauffele as the top USA point scorer. 

For Team Europe, a little bit more challenging. I’m going to go with Jon Rahm. Rahm’s had an incredible year, he’s at a +800 right now on DraftKings. Rahm won his first major championship at the U.S. Open, finished runner-up at the TOUR Championship just a couple of weeks ago. He did so well in his Ryder Cup debut in Paris three years ago. I expect him to have a big week if Europe is looking to retain the cup. 

So give me Jon Rahm for the top points scorer for Team Europe.
