Spiralling Red Sox playing with fire as playoffs loom

The Boston Red Sox are spiralling as MLB’s playoff push heats up.The Sox were 4 and a half games up in the division just a month and a half ago and now they find themselves clinging to the 2nd wild card spot, a game up on Oakland.

Even when they win, the bullpen has been shaky, blowing leads and keeping things more interesting than they should be.

Tuesday’s matchup against the Minnesota Twins has all the makings of a trap game, after Boston nearly blew another one Monday night in an extra innings win over Texas.
