SheBelieves Cup: Japan vs. Brazil & Canada vs. USA
The SheBelieves Cup gets underway in Orlando, Florida today, with Japan taking on Brazil in the soccer tournament opener.
A four-nation invitational held annually in the U.S., this year’s SheBelives Cup also serves as important prep for the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, which kicks off this July in Australia and New Zealand.
Japan and Brazil will go head to head at the Exploria Stadium at 4 p.m. ET, and the South American side look like strong favourites for the win.
Japan are on a run of two straight defeats, having lost both of their international friendlies back in November, while Brazil have lost only once in their last 13 outings.
That defeat came at hands of the Canadian Women’s National Team, who ran out 2-1 winners in a friendly clash late last year, and Bev Priestman’s side will also be in action today - taking on Team USA at 7p.m. ET.

Both of today’s matches will be screened live on FuboTV and OneSoccer.
Qatar Open quarter-final: Caroline Garcia vs. Maria Sakkari
Third seed Caroline Garcia survived a scare at Qatar Open yesterday after going a set down against world no.123 Karolina Muchova.
29-year old Garcia was playing her first match of the tournament after a first round bye, and the world no.5 had to battle her way back into the game, eventually coming away with the win after an epic three hour contest.
In today’s Qatar final she’ll face off against fifth seed Maria Sakkari, who booked her place in the last eight courtesy of a straight sets win over Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia.
Garcia has won all three of her previous meetings against Sakkari, while Sakkari has lost 8 of her last 12 matches against Top 10 rated players. But whoever wins today still faces a tough task on the way to the final, with world no.1 Iga Swiatek potentially lying in wait in the semis.
You can catch all of today’s action on DAZN, Tennis Channel, and TVA Sports.
BVAC Women’s Open 2023 Semi-Finals
In women’s squash, the Expression Networks BVAC Women’s Open has reached the semi-final stage in Calgary, Alberta.
And Canada’s Nicole Bunyan is still in the running of the Challenger 10 event, after the 29-year old successfully navigated a tricky quarter final encounter against Hong Kong’s Cheng Nga Ching.
But the big news from the last round was a massive win for Mexico’s Diana Garcia, who produced a huge upset to beat number one seed and world no.47 Enora Villar.
In today’s semi-finals, which are broadcast live on CBC Sports, Garcia will take on sixth seed Kaitlyn Watts of New Zealand, while Nicloe Bunyan will go up against Marie Stephan of France.
