Sharp Edge Picks | Lions to keep it somewhat close versus the Rams

This is a classic David versus Goliath 5-1 Rams, 0-6 Lions.

‍

The Rams just demolished the Giants 38-11 and the Lions got crushed by the Bengals 34-11.

‍

This is a no brainer, am I right?

‍

The Rams will steamroll them.  But wait.  

‍

Let’s dig a little deeper.

‍

The Lions lost their three previous games by a combined 14 points keeping it close.

‍

And only two of the Rams five wins have been by 16 points.  This is also a crazy quarterback matchup.

‍

These two guys were just traded for each other in the offseason. Goff for Stafford.

‍

Is Stafford that much better than Goff? Aren’t they really just middle of the road quarterbacks in the NFL?

Neither are Rodgers or Brady that would ever justify such a huge spread.

‍

We love the NFL for its parity.

‍

Last week was a weird aberration.

‍

Most of the favourites crushed.  But that isn’t usually the case.

‍

I gave a dud underdog in the Texans.

‍

But winning in the NFL is hard. Winning by two touchdowns in the NFL is really hard and even then the Rams don’t cover.  It’s too many points and this week I look to rebound with the Lions plus 15.5 in NFL action.
