Jim Mora might not be behind the Seattle Kraken bench on Monday, but if the NHL’s newest franchise can beat Connor McDavid’s Oilers, they’ll end the night in a wild card spot.

Coming off a late loss to the Rangers last night, Dave Hakstol’s Kraken are in Edmonton facing one of the hottest teams in the NHL. The bright side? Seattle’s won two of three, and finally look to be rolling offensively, even with Jared McCann in COVID-19 protocols.

The Oilers have the best power play in the league and led by hockey’s greatest player should be facing goalie Joey Daccord, who has yet to win a game this season.

First line winger Jesse Puljujarvi hasn’t scored in five games, so look for him to break his slump against Seattle’s mediocre defence.

At the other end of the ice, Joonas Donskoi hasn’t been able to light the lamp as a member of the Kraken, but we’re betting on Mikko Koskinen’s hot start between the Oilers pipes as a mirage, giving Donskoi a chance to turn his campaign around.

The pick:

Lock in Joonas Donskoi at +300 and Jesse Puljujarvi at +170 as anytime goal scorers

Offence shouldn’t be a problem tonight – take the over 6.5 total goals
