No matter what you might have thought about the pick on draft night, it has become clear less than halfway through his first season: Scottie Barnes is the real deal.

The 4th overall pick in the NBA Draft this year may have been a little controversial at the time, but after only 26 games as a pro, Scottie Barnes has made the Raptors look awfully smart.

Not only is the 20 year old averaging 15.5 points to go with more than eight rebounds and three assists per game, he’s also adding new skills and improvements like a three-point shot to his game on a seemingly nightly basis.

That was all on display in the Raps most recent game, where Barnes had 23, 12, and 5, while hunting the superstar Kevin Durant and getting buckets.

It’s not too late to make some money on Scottie for Rookie Of The Year. Evan Mobley of the Cavs is the favourite at the moment but he’s already missed some time due to injury. Act now and you can lock it.

Barnes at +275.
