Marino to seize her chance in Qatar, Beanpot action in NCAA Women’s Hockey & Australia seek another big win in the Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup
2023 WTA Qatar Open: Daria Kasatkina vs Rebecca Marino
Rebecca Marino will go up against world number eight Daria Kasatkina in the first round of the 2023 WTA Qatar Open this morning.
Marino has won just one of her main draw matches this season, but with Kasatkina struggling for form of late, today’s matchup offers the Canadian a real opportunity to reach the second round of the competition.
Kasatkina has racked up only one win in her last four matches, and she’s been losing by heavy margins as well. The Russian 25-year old was defeated 6-1, 6-2 by Qinwen Zheng in Abu Dhabi, having previously lost out 6-1, 6-1 to the unseeded Varvara Gracheva at the Australian Open.
75th ranked Marino made it through three qualifying rounds to enter the main draw in Qatar. Can she take advantage of Kasatkina's slump in form and book a spot in round three today?

NCAA Women's Hockey: Northeastern vs. Boston College
The 44th annual women's Beanpot kicked off last week, with Boston's four major college hockey programs battling it out for the city's bragging rights on the ice.
The tournament sees Boston University, Boston College, Northeastern and Harvard square off every February, and tonight’s matchup will be a hotly anticipated encounter between the Northeastern Huskies and the Boston College Eagles.
It’s the seventh time the Huskies and the Eagles have faced each other in the championship, over the tournament's 44-year history.
Northeastern has the most Beanpots of all-time with 17, their last win being back in 2020 with an overtime victory over Boston University. The Huskies are 16-11-1 in the championship game and 14-11-1 against Boston College in the tournament.
The Eagles, who are 8-11-0 in the championship, have eight titles to their name over all. Their most recent triumph in 2018 when they knocked off the Terriers in overtime.
You can catch tonight's game at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
Women's T20 Cricket World Cup 2023: Australia vs Bangladesh
At the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa, Australia Women will take on Bangladesh this morning, in what could be a one-sided affair in Group A.
Australia made the best possible start to the competition with a dominant 97-run victory over New Zealand. Taking a total of five wickets at a rate of four runs per over, Ashleigh Gardner was the star of the show for the Aussies, with New Zealand bowled out for a meagre 76 runs.
But Bangladesh struggled in their own tournament opener, with a seven-wicket loss to Sri Lanka, and they face an even more difficult task here against the defending champions.
Australia are the vastly superior side in all departments, so expect a text book win from the side many are tipping to be the overall winners of the tournament.
Today’s match gets underway at 11:50 a.m. ET on ESPN+.
