Nathan Mackinnon makes his return to the lineup on Wednesday night as two of the hottest teams in the NHL face off when the Leafs host the Avs at Scotiabank Arena.

 

Mackinnon, who has 10 points in 8 games this season, will look to pick up where he left off — but it won’t be easy against Jack Campbell. The Leafs’ netminder is the current favourite for the Vezina trophy, owning a 1.27 GAA & a .960 save percentage over this last 11 starts.

 

In MacKinnon’s eight-game absence, Avalanche second-line center Nazem Kadri has been on an offensive tear, producing 17 points and climbing to fourth in NHL scoring. This will be Kadri’s first game back in Toronto, where he played 561 games.
