Logan Paul and Dillon Danis' "The Prime Card" was an Embarrassment to Fighting
This past weekend's highly anticipated sports event, The Prime Card, featuring WWE superstar Logan Paul and MMA fighter Dillon Danis, left many fans expecting an exciting showdown. However, the reality of the event turned out to be quite different from what was anticipated.
The controversy began when Dillon Danis adopted a unique and controversial approach to promote the fight. Rather than focusing on the sport itself, Danis took to social media, engaging in unacceptable behavior towards Logan Paul's fiancée, Nina Agdal. He posted inappropriate images and made suggestive comments about the Danish model.
The tension between the two fighters escalated during the weigh-ins, where Danis confronted Paul, throwing a microphone at the YouTube sensation's face. The altercation resulted in a cut and a black eye for Paul, but it would prove to be the cleanest shot Danis would land that weekend.
When the actual bout took place, Danis only managed to land 16 out of 70 punches throughout the 18 minutes of the fight. In stark contrast, Logan Paul showcased a more focused approach, landing 108 punches and maintaining a 32% punch accuracy rate. And Danis decided to try and wrestle Paul, and eventually tried a guillotine choke on Paul which resulted in a disqualification on Danis near the end of the fight.
Post-fight, Logan Paul expressed his interest in a US Title match with WWE star Rey Mysterio, which seems like a logical progression for the versatile entertainer. After all, Paul has been wrestling with WWE since April 2022. For some, it also seems more fitting, as his skills in the boxing ring might not match up to the professionals. Instead, he could consider following in the footsteps of his younger brother, Jake, who aspires to hold titles and faces legitimate competition.
As for Dillon Danis, many hope that this divisive figure returns to obscurity on the internet, having failed to deliver on his promises and making headlines for all the wrong reasons.
