Without inform strikers Richarlison and Dominic Calvert Lewin, the Toffees struggled to find the net on Saturday and ran out second best against a Villa side that knew how to take their chances.

Few would have picked this as a 3-0 loss for Everton after their powerful resurgence under Rafa Benitez - but Villa looked like they’d finally come to terms with the loss of Jack Grealish, with young right back Matty Cash putting in a strong performance and scoring his first for the club.

For Chelsea it was business as usual against a Tottenham side that ran out of ideas after a respectable showing in the first half.

Chelsea looked every inch the Premier League favorites they’ve become, with world class players in every position AND a winning system that everyone understands.

Spurs on the other hand looked every inch the top eight outfit they’ve become in recent years - and Harry Kane must be rueing his failed move to Man City more and more with every passing lacklustre performance.

Man Utd versus West Ham was a much tougher proposition than Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was expecting. The Reds were one down at halftime only for Cristiano Ronaldoto score his fourth goal in as many games, and with two minutes to go it looked as though the points would be shared.

But there was still high drama to come as ex West Ham loanee and transfer target Jesse Linagrd stepped up to score the winner, before Mark Noble - ‘Mr West Ham’ himself - came off the bench to take and miss a 92 minute penalty.

Man Utd will need to play ugly and win games like these if they want to be considered serious title contenders - but Solskjar may be concerned about how hard they were made to work for the points.

Here are my picks for this weekend’s fixtures:

  • Take Arsenal to beat Tottenham in the north London derby at +125
  • Take Man Utd to continue their unbeaten run with a victory over Villa at -275
  • Take Pep Guardiola’s Man City to outfox Chelsea and win on the day at  +175
