The Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers will renew their rivalry on Friday night at Staples Center, and with each team entering the game winless this season, things could get a little spicy in Hollywood!

Despite his 34-point performance, Lebron James and the Lakers looked downright lost at points during their season-opening loss to the Warriors on Tuesday night, and as the revamped Los Angeles roster continues to try and find their way, they’ll face a Suns team that has brought back the same starting five that led them to the NBA Finals.

Now, Phoenix also took an L to open their schedule against the Nuggets earlier this week with Devin Booker putting up his worst numbers from the field since February 2020 but look for Booker to get back on track against the team he silenced in the first round of the playoffs last year.

On the other side of the floor, you know that Lebron will be looking for revenge after getting bounced in the first round for the first time in his career.

Carmelo Anthony, Kent Bazemore, Deandre Jordan and Russell Westbrook each made their Lakers debut in Tuesday’s loss, and despite all of the talent that Frank Vogel has at his disposal, all signs are pointing to their rotation needing more time to become the championship-contending team that everyone thinks they’ll be down the stretch.

Here are my picks:

·    Look for Devin Booker to rebound from his season-opening performance and hit over 25.5 points

·    The Lakers new 6th man Carmelo Anthony is still figuring out his role in LA’s offense, take him under 12.5 points

·    It’s a pick ‘em matchup between two teams desperate for their first win of the year: take Phoenix on the road over LA at -110
