The Toronto Blue Jays have it all: three straight player of the week awards, four all stars in their lineup, and yet… they haven’t made up any ground in the playoff hunt.

With the clock ticking on how long they have to make some noise and sneak into wild card position, this week represents a great chance to get on a roll, starting with two games against the Washington Nationals.

For one thing, the Nationals come into this series on a massive slide. They traded away ace Max Scherzer at the deadline, and enter Tuesday’s opener having lost seven straight games.

The Blue Jays are sitting on a massively positive run differential, having outscored opponents by 127 runs so far this season. Even better, they are 14-4 in interleague play this year, with Washington showing no signs of slowing them down.

Here are the picks:

  • Blue Jays for the win and we’ll give up a run and a half, -1.5, -125
  • Vladimir Guerrero Jr. break out of a mild cold spell, let’s go total bases over 1.5 -150
