A weekend of upsets in Women’s College Basketball…
NCAA Women's Basketball
March Madness is almost upon us in Women’s College Basketball, with the 68-team NCAA tournament beginning in earnest on Sunday, March 12.
Saint Louis, Virginia Tech, Gardner-Webb and Washington State are just some of the sides that have already secured automatic qualification for this year’s tournament, but two of the top-seeded teams have already missed out.
No.2 seed Indiana held a 24 point lead over Ohio State late in the Big Ten semifinal's second quarter on Saturday, but the Buckeyes turned it around to lead by four in the game’s final seconds - notching up the largest ever comeback in tournament history in the process!
Ohio State couldn’t extend their winning run though, after running into the Iowa Hawkeyes and Caitlin Clark on Sunday. Iowa absolutely dominated the Buckeyes to finish 105-72 at a Target Center, winning a second straight Big Ten tournament title.
Clark finished with a triple-double, and her half-time score was just one one point shy of Ohio State’s entire team total…
Likewise, The Tennessee Volunteers scored a massive upset in their Saturday night clash against third seeded LSU - coming back from a 14 point deficit at half time to pull off a narrow 69-67 victory.
But on Sunday the Vols came up short against South Carolina in the SEC Women's Tournament championship.

FA Women’s Super League
And while we’re looking back at the weekend’s action, how about Arsenal women in the FA Women’s Super League?
The Gunners were a goal down after only two minutes in Sunday’s Continental League Cup final against Chelsea, but fought back to win 3-1 and claim their first piece of silverware in over four years.
The game was played in front of a record crowd, with 20,000 fans in attendance to see Arsenal upset their cross town rivals. And the win was made even more impressive by the fact that Chelsea were in their second Continental Cup final on the bounce, and have been crowned WSL champions in each of the last three seasons.
Both sides will be back in action on Wednesday, and we’ll be previewing those and other WSL matches this week.
