As the knockout rounds commence in Orlando, several topflight teams have already packed their bags and exited the bubble.

In this extra special, three-guest episode of Footy Talks Live, Luke, KJ and Stevie bring us all the action from the MLS Is Back Tournament – and the discuss teams still fighting to win it.

With TFC lined up to face NYCFC, KJ argued for caution against a side that narrowly avoided elimination. Despite boasting an array of elite players, the west coast side are still to win a major playoff game, but KJ had a warning for Greg Vanney’s side: ‘Always be wary of those who get a second chance!’ 

Philadelphia Union head coach Jim Curtin praised his team’s ruthless counterattacking, and stressed the importance of player relationships alongside tactics and talent. Curtin broke down his own dramatic journey from player to coach, and described how the bubble in Orlando has been an invaluable opportunity to learn about the mentality of his team.

After keeping a clean sheet in TFC’s final group match, goalkeeper Alex Bono spoke about the challenges of making an impact from the sidelines, and discussed the team’s penalty kick preparations heading into the elimination stages.

And Seattle Sounders head coach Brian Schmetzer discussed his own team’s slow start to the tournament – eventually overcoming injuries throughout the squad to secure a place in the coveted second round.
