08 Jul “Its great to be back in the CPL, but still under the Atlético umbrella.”
Recap – Atlético Ottawa’s Ben Fisk, PLUS Mike Miller and Rahul Kalvapalle, join Footy Talks LaLiga
Footy Talks LaLiga is back with another action packed episode! And this week’s live show host kicked off with hosts Carlos Verde and Mike DeLuca talking ‘trouble at the bottom,’ and ‘drama at the top.’
Reflecting on their relegation from the Spanish top flight, Carlos and Mike discussed the challenges now facing Espanyol – both on and off the field.
And after highlighting the finer points of their football related attire, guests Michael Miller and Rahul Kalvapalle give their views on the fight at the opposite end of the table.
Barca fan Michael gave his take on the ‘player’s republic’ assuming control of the Nou Camp locker room, and what that means for embattled coach Quique Setién.
While Real fan Rahul argued that winning the league title without Ronaldo and Hazard would represent a huge achievement for Los Blancos this season.
Extra special guest Ben Fisk of Atlético Ottawa describes his journey through various european leagues ‘chasing the dream’ – before returning full circle to the CPL. Ben breaks down the challenges of creating a truly canadian club while working under the Atlético umbrella, and gives great advice on staying humble and hungry as a player.
‘The last year has been a bit of a whirlwind for sure. Coming back to the CPL was a unique opportunity to come grow the sport I love in the country I love.’ Atlético Ottawa’s @benfisk on returning to Canada to continue his career in 2019.— Footy Talks (@FootyTalksLive) July 8, 2020

‘It might be a case of too little too late unfortunately. Villarreal is one of those teams that are actually extremely tough to beat. They’re aggressive, dynamic, hungry and talented.’ @MikeMillerFC on how he feels on the state of Barcelona. pic.twitter.com/ByajEjmAd1— Footy Talks (@FootyTalksLive) July 7, 2020
