01 Nov Footy Talks’ Toronto FC watch party the first-ever sporting event screened at Cinesphere
Wednesday was a historic day at the Ontario Place Cinesphere. Not only did Toronto FC advance to the MLS Cup final for the third time in four years, but it was also the first-ever sporting event screened at the historic venue.
The Cinesphere is the world’s first IMAX theatre and provided an incredible venue to watch the match.
Prior to the match, Footy Talks presented a live panel hosted by Sammy Davis Jr. with Joshua Kloke of The Athletic, Oliver Platt of OneSoccer and Mitchell Tierney of Waking the Red.
The match began with a loud and proud national anthem from the Toronto FC supporters in attendance.
The atmosphere continued throughout the rest of the game but was never better than when Nick DeLeon’s incredible goal secured the victory for Toronto FC.
The chants and celebrations continued until well after the final whistle. For full photos of the event from Homestand Sports photographer Mathew Tsang head over to our Facebook page.
Footy Talks will once again be hosting a viewing party for the MLS Cup final on November 10. Click here to RSVP and for more details.
