30 Jan Come wait out the winter with the Pitch Talks Winter Meeting!
It has been a cold winter without baseball, but finally, spring training is in sight! To help you get through the last few weeks of a baseball-less offseason, the Pitch Talks Winter Meeting is taking place tomorrow at the Rivoli.
“I think this will be a good stopgap in the cold winter as we all anticipate spring training in a few weeks,” says Cam Gordon of Twitter Canada, mentioning that this time of year can typically be a bit of dead zone for baseball news. “This will be a good opportunity for Toronto baseball fans to get their fill as they try to wait out winter and wait for spring training to come.”
Gordon will be part of the event’s #BlueJaysTwitter panel, also featuring @Minor_Leaguer and @Baseball_Jenn. It’s a panel he expects to discuss a variety of topics related to the Jays both on and off the field.
“The conversation on Twitter is literally never-ending,” says Gordon. “Even once the season ends there is no shortage of content whether it is baseball or whatever sport you are into.”
The Blue Jays Winter Meeting will be hosted by Drew Fairservice, and also features a panel with Blue Jays beat writers Keegan Matheson (Baseball Toronto), Kaitlyn McGrath (The Athletic) and Nick Ashbourne (Yahoo! Sports) to give the audience an inside scoop on all things Blue Jays. Tickets are available by clicking here. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the panel set to start at 7.
“It’s just a great opportunity to get together with a community that has built up over 5 or 6 years,” said Fairservice. “For a lot of people, it is something that is only online but to put names to faces and see people all together like that it’s really valuable.”
