Come watch the Leafs-Habs season opener with Puck Talks and The Athletic!

Ever since Auston Matthews was drafted by the Toronto Maple Leafs, anticipation for the hockey season has increased every year in the city of Toronto. With the signing of John Tavares as a free agent this summer, it is safe to say that anticipation has reached a boiling point for tomorrow’s season opener.

The Leafs host the Montreal Canadiens as they look to write the latest chapter in their storied rivalry, with puck drop at 7 p.m. The Canadiens, meanwhile, are coming off of a strong preseason, and are looking to surprise some teams this year after struggling in recent times. A win over the Leafs in the opener would go a long way towards getting them back on track.

There is no better place to watch the game for free than at The Rec Room in Toronto, located at 225 Bremner Blvd across from the Rogers Centre. Puck Talks and our friends over at The Athletic are hosting a viewing party there tomorrow with doors opening at 5 p.m.

Andi Petrillo of Leafs Lunch will be hosting a pre-game panel, as well as a Q & A period, alongside Scott Wheeler, Justin Bourne and Tyler Dellow of The Athletic Toronto. Then the game will be shown on the movie theatre-sized big screen with full audio to get you as close to the action as possible. Subscribers to The Athletic can win prizes just for attending the event!
